Nordicon system
Nordicon system offers the possibility to combine different materials in the same facade: steel, wood, glass, stone, tile, render and ceramic tile. Nordicon, which is based on lightweight technique, does not put restrictions on choosing the frame of the building. Nordicon is suitable for residential, commercial and office constructions. It can also be applied to the repair of old facades as well as additional storey building.
Nordicon is a new generation facade system with several advantages. The facade structure is ventilating and it does not form heat bridges. The structure is dry from the beginning. Wider variations of openings of exterior and interior walls offer plenty of new possibilities for flexible layout utilization. Basic structural frame for Nordicon element is created from Thermo Purlins. Its web perforation reduces considerably the heat flow going through the thermo purlin. Research and experience from use have proved the excellent function of Termo Purlin and its moisture and acoustic techniques. As it is based on steel, it is non-combustible, stable and precise in measures. Termo Purlin is a result of a long-term development of Rautaruukki, Rannila and the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. Nordicon facade elements are available in numerous material configurations and supply options from structural design relating to the element system to the installation of cladding materials. Ruukki strives to find and realize in cooperation with the client the best possible solutions in every case. A certified quality system guarantees the quality of the element system.
Pre-fabricated Wall Elements:
The most common method is to pre-fabricate wall elements from the profiles at the factory in order to shorten the time needed for construction work on the building site. Elements can be delivered object-made with thermal insulation and wall plates, or as completely ready elements with windows and doors installed.

When constructing a house from thermopanels at the building site only a light lift is needed and a brigade of a few men. Wall construction will go fast as most work operations have already been made at the factory. Panels with specific measurements are set in place, attached to the foundation and/ or partition ceilings, and connection joints will be made dense. All materials used for exterior padding are suitable for façade materials. For roof carriers, in general, are thorn plate-wooden frames, foundations are built following the common project rules of thumb. Panel interior walls may be covered with materials suitable for purposes of rooms.
Thermopanels
Thermopanel walls are exterior walls, which standing structure is made of thermobatten. In case of thermopanel system the entire building will be mounted from large elements manufactured at a factory. Stiffness of thermopanel system is guaranteed by construction plates covering the structure from both sides, in case of need also by additional support structures placed underneath plates. The frames are entirely filled with mineral or rock wool filling and a vapour barrier is installed in the inner surface of the walls.

Thermopanel is comprised of:
1. Enforced plaster plate 13 mm 2. Vapour barrier plastic 0,2 mm 3. Mineral filling 200 mm 4. Thermoprofile structure/ frame 200 mm 5. Wind barrier plaster plate 9 mm
Thermoprofiles
Thermoprofile or thermobatten is a thin-walled bent profile made of galvanized steel sheet, which is meant for construction of exterior wall structures and facades. The strength of steel and good workability allows making light, thin but at the same time strong constructions. The perforation in the center part of thermoprofile cross-section cuts through the cold bridge, reducing substantially steel sheet’s thermoconductivity. Thermoprofile and for the same cross-section wooden beam thermal technical showings are in the same class. Also thermo- profile walls sound isolation features are on a good level. For example, the measured attenuation of traffic noise of a panel of 175-mm profile is 43 dB and the attenuation of other outer noise is 51 dB.

Steel thermoprofile is:
1. Light but strong and sturdy 2. Strong heat protection 3. Stands up to weather conditions 4. Even material structure and quality and exact measurements 5. Environmentally friendly – saves wood, creates little waste and may be re-worked 6. Workable with fast and simple methods, may be mounted and erected
The Thermo Profile is a light, measure-exact, stable, recyclable and durable product. We are useing in our products Ruukki Corporation Nordicon Thermo Profile system. Wall can be made from steel, wood, bricks, aluminum, glass, plastering, as well as from stone or ceramic tiles.
Pre-Cut System: The pre-cut Thermo Profiles are installed to act as a frame at the building site. After that, walls are thermal insulated with mineral wool, wall plates as well as windows are installed, and the facade cladding is put in place.
Applications:
In the exterior walls of detached family and terraced houses, the Termo Profiles are mostly used as the load-bearing structure. In residential multi-storey buildings, the Termo Profiles are mostly used as the load-bearing part of the facade, but they don’t bear floors or the roof, i.e., the Termo Profile walls are used as non-load bearing exterior walls. It is recommended to use square-like or band-like elements for commercial and office buildings. The Termo Profiles are also suitable for renovation. When building additional storeys and spaces, the Thermo Profiles are used in the same way as in new buildings. Where old facades are repaired, the Termo Profiles can be used as a frame structure for a new cladding which substitutes the demolished cladding or the exterior surface.
